The course runs on private vineyard roads and through working rows, past cellar doors most visitors only see from the highway. Run it for a time or run it for the view. The last mile brings you into Yountville.
The course surface
Most of the course runs on compacted gravel and smooth dirt roads through private vineyards that are closed to the public. Paved road is kept to a minimum.
Private estate roads
Most of your 13.1 miles, on vineyard land that’s closed to the public.
Packed gravel and dirt
Flat, smooth and firm, with no single track. Nearly all of it is wide enough to drive.
A little pavement
Only where it’s needed to link one estate to the next.
Your usual shoes
Road or trail shoes both work. Wear the pair you trust at mile 10.
Event essentials
Saturday, May 8, 2027. One start line at Quintessa, one finish in Yountville, and a field capped at 750 runners.
Registration is open on RaceEntry. 2026 runners are in first, and everyone else can register from October 1. Early pricing is $145 through December 31, then $165 until the field fills.

Where to stay
May is high season in the valley. Our partner hotels hold rooms for runners at a reduced rate, so book early and walk to dinner.

Things to do
The race is Saturday morning. Come Friday, stay through Sunday, and the rest of the weekend is yours.

Getting here
Napa is an easy weekend from almost anywhere: three airports within about an hour, and shuttles to the start on race morning.
Why Epicura
The race ends at Epicura Village, and most runners stay for the afternoon.
Wine poured by the people who made it, food from the valley’s kitchens, live music, and the friends you just ran 13.1 miles with. Bring your family. No dress code, and no wine vocabulary required.

When Epicura asks an estate to open its roads for a morning, the people asking are neighbors.
Epicura was founded by Tiffany and Guillaume Eicholz, Napa Valley residents who share deep roots in the wine industry and a lifelong passion for endurance sports and the outdoors.

Tonnellerie Berger & Fils makes barrels for cellars around the world. Tiffany has lived in Napa Valley since 2009 and runs endurance races.
Guillaume Eicholz
Co-founder · Vineyard Director, Dominus Estate
Guillaume runs the vineyards at Dominus Estate and knows the valley’s roads at walking pace and at race pace. A longtime Napa resident and endurance runner.
The 2026 edition
257 runners from 79 cities and 14 states ran the first edition, the Napa Valley Wine Marathon. Every runner who answered the survey said they would recommend it.

Questions
A race T-shirt, your bib and timing chip, a finisher’s medal and a glass of sparkling wine the moment you cross the line. Then Epicura Village, where a tasting from every winery and food from the valley’s kitchens come with your entry. Village passes for friends and family go on sale January 1.
Friday, at packet pickup. It’s an event in its own right, with your full race bag, partner samples and an easy start to the weekend. If you can’t make it, we’ll mail your packet to you for a fee. Race-morning pickup is limited and includes your bib only, so Friday is the way to go.
On the free race shuttle from Yountville. It’s the only way in: there’s no parking or public access at the start line. Pickup times will be sent before race week.
Yes. The course closes four hours after the start.
Not on the course. Around the Village and in town, Yountville’s leash laws apply.
Not on the course, for safety. Strollers are welcome at the Village.
